mixed media workshop responding to the work of John Piper

mixed media workshop responding to the work of John Piper

£75.00

The exhibition John Piper in The South Country is currently showing at Devizes Museum, the first exhibition in the south west showing his work in the area. His work includes painting, drawing, print and collage and in this workshop we consider how we might use paint, collage and mark making to respond to spaces in reflection of his work.

You do not need to have visited the exhibition but it will likely enhance your workshop.

If you feel nervous about whether you will fit in, whether you will be out of your comfort zone I urge you to give it a go at the studio. I feel passionately about creativity being for everyone and this class is a very open opportunity to play with mixed media to explore varied ways of making.

Art classes often focus on the outcome and this is not the case as this can create pressure - a feeling of comparison and 'good enough' or not. So much of creating art is being open to seeing what happens and this is what the aim is for this class. You will likely come away with some pieces that have taught you something -you may feel you have a finished piece or you may feel you have some pieces which you may add to beyond the session.

Limited places as always

Saturday 6th June 10.30am - 3pm (we will break for a 40 min lunch)

All materials are provided

Your email after booking confirms your place - if you need to cancel this can be done up to 7 days before the class - after this I can only offer a refund if the place can be filled.

The studio is a safe and welcoming space to create.
