During a residency in Snowdonia, I painted spontaneously in response to the ever changing weather - one minute bright sunshine and the next clearly a storm on the horizon. It felt like a metaphor for me of the turbulence of emotions and life at that time. I wanted to capture that feeling with a nod to the beautiful Welsh countryside.
